Calville Bay Resort & Marina – Las Vegas, NV

Callville Bay Marina, Lake Mead

As a local Las Vegan I can attest to there being life outside the Las Vegas Strip.  Vegas has its own “natural beauty” that at times I am blown away by.  I’ve been known to chase sunsets, cloudy skies, thunderstorms and just the beauty of the ever changing colors with my camera in hand.

One of the things that I love about living in Las Vegas is the close proximity to Lake Mead, we can be there within thirty minutes.  Although Dale and I both love the Ocean, Lake Mead comes in as a close second.  We knew that Lake Mead had some campgrounds/RV hookups at http://callvillebay.com/contactus/ which is our favorite place to launch our boat.  Its just a really pretty spot and we always seem to find a new favorite place to drop anchor and just “be in the moment.”

Calville Bay RV spots

They have five RV spots with full hook-ups located in the area where the mobile homes are.  The spots were good size and our RV and boat trailer fit easily.  And the $22.00 per night fee wasn’t to hard to take.    Most RV spots have the picnic tables and my red and white checkered tablecloth I purchased really came in handy.

Our boat tied off at dock

Another nice feature was for  $15.00 per day you can tie your boat off on the pier which makes it a breeze to head off  in the morning. The security guys put an envelope on your boat at night and in the morning you just deposit your fifteen dollars in envelope and drop it in any of the red boxes on the pier. I just loved, loved, loved this amenity.

Calville Bay Store

Calville Bay has a store that has some really cute and useful things you might need to enjoy yourself for the day.  And don’t think you have to own your own boat to take full advantage of all Callville Bay has to offer.  You can rent out most any type of motorized watercraft (houseboats, jetski’s, ski boats, jet cruisers and fishing boats).

We enjoyed ourselves on the water all weekend, Lake Mead is a truly beautiful place.  I give it a two thumbs up…

Here’s a few photos I took, enjoy…

“Damn, I should have a glass of wine!”

Another beautiful sunset I was chasing…

Can you spell “tranquility?”
