Malibu Beach RV Park, CA

Our RV spot

Its hard to believe that while I sit at my picnic table staring at the Ocean, sun on my face and not a cloud in the sky my poor family is starting to feel the effects of “Hurricane Sandy” on the East Coast. If Dale makes one more joke about Hurricane Sandy I might toss him of this picturesque hillside (my name is Sandy).

1) Why are you so angry at everyone Hurricane Sandy?

2) Does it bring you happiness to hurt people?

3) How many lives will you take

4) Why must you cause such chaos?

Blah, blah, blah – he’s such an idiot!

View from our RV spot

We stayed at Malibu Beach RV Park here in Malibu. It’s a million dollar view at $39.00 a night (winter rates). The spots, at least where we are parked feels really spacious and private. I think having a smaller RV makes it feel more roomy. When two big RV’s (those bus size ones) park next to each other you get more of that “sardine feel.”

Love the look of this

I love the way that people personalize their little spots. I guess I should take a walk around and get more shots of the park.

Alright I’m walking (my thoughts as I proceed).

1) Oh I need to get some of those levelers to put under of wheels

2) Waaahhh, I don’t want to go home!

3) Should I shower today or not?

4) I wonder if we can get a late checkout?

5) Did I brush my teeth last night, yuck!

We have had the greatest weather, it’s hard to believe it is the end of October. Our days were sunny with low eighties in the day and low fifties at night. We open the windows at night in the RV and hear the surf crashing against the shore. What a nice way to go to sleep.

I love that shimmer the moon does

It’s really quiet in this park after ten o’clock at night (pretty standard). You walk through at this hour and you can hear a pin drop. Some people are sitting at their picnic tables or in those blue camping chairs with a soft glow of either candles or Kerosene lamps. It’s very peaceful.

Playing out with panoramic shots

I’m really digging the whole RV thing, Dale and I both are. It opens up so many possibilities of fun and fairly inexpensive vacations. We decided that next year we have to look at a calendar and plan for a bunch of long weekends.

We plan on doing some short trips around Vegas that can even be just one night stays. There are so many beautiful places in our neck of the woods. One guy I work with (fellow RV’er) drives his rig to Parump and parks in the desert. He says the sky is so dark and the stars are really incredible. There isn’t really much in “over the hump Parump” as the locals say other than legal prostitution. So when Dale says I’m just going to the store for milk I’ll worry when he’s gone for so long and smells like cheap perfume upon his return.

Our main man Tip (our cat)

We also plan on trying to get our cat Tip into coming along on some of these trips. Those will be some amusing blogs because I know he will be flipping out. I keep telling Dale he is not a dog and is terrified of being outside his safe environment. “Aww, he’ll love it,” he says. Yeah, we’ll see.

Here are some More photos of our trip. The last few I was playing around with taking panoramic shots with my iphone? I don’t want to leave…

Loved your pics, and comments about the Malibu Beach RV park. We’re heading there, so I was Googling to see if I could see some extra campsite photos, and really enjoyed yours! Your idea to take your cat made me LOL…we recently took our cat Trixy, on vacation along with our 2 dogs, and that was her first and last vacation! 😉
